We provide early point-of-sale access in the mortgage origination process. Our product will not cause changes to be made to your existing corporate programs or be perceived as competition by REALTORS®. We believe the Relocation TRIP® Kit will enhance the product portfolio of mortgage originators in reaching potential clients and closing new business. This value-added product will create a point of competitive difference for lender reps.
Our product consists of a combination of proprietary Internet-based technology, services with use credits, real estate commission rebates, and the assistance of a Personal Relocation Counselor. We service transferees who participate in a fully or partially covered relocation plan as well as retail transferees and retirees who may only receive a lump sum, partial, or no reimbursement to relocate. Thus the Relocation TRIP® Kit provides an ideal benefit to small and medium-sized businesses with under 150 moves per annum. Large full-service relocation firms are not set-up to cost effectively handle such small accounts. Our product design is compatible with traditional relocation plans and policies. Once the Relocation TRIP Kit® is purchased, all service and benefit delivery is coordinated by BHIF. Accordingly, the responsibility to provide relocation services is with BHIF, not the strategic partner or employer.
The Relocation TRIP® Kit provides relocation coordination services, except home inventory purchase, for a fixed, flat-fee purchase price of $995. Our Personal Relocation Counselors support each client move within the guidelines of a well-defined two-step set of Disclosure and Service Agreements signed only by the transferee. Access to the file is protected so that only the transferee and the counselor have access. Retail transferees are satisfied by our relocation services, without incurring contractual liabilities to the employer or creating perceptions of ‘plan discrimination’ by non-plan qualifying transferees. The Relocation TRIP® Kit reduces HR department overhead and company costs and at the same time increases service.
With the Relocation TRIP® Kit employees assume more direct responsibility for the administration of their benefits. The Relocation TRIP® Kit and Personal Relocation Counselor provide everything transferees need to organize a move, control the cost, reduce stress, and minimize the number of days off work. The cost of the Kit includes $750 in service use credits and up to $1,750 in real estate commission rebates. The credits come from participating strategic partners and the rebates from BHIF’s share of received real estate referral fees. Expense reporting typically required by corporations and the IRS is an integral part of the product. Preparation of IRS Form 1099 for credits is not part of the process, and commission rebates are not considered to be taxable unless they have already been expensed.
The cost of the Relocation TRIP® Kit, can be paid by either the employer or transferee. The rebates can be paid to either the employer or employee, as applicable. To date, almost all Relocation TRIP® Kit purchases have been made by the employer. The decision as to which, if any, of BHIF’s strategic partners are used are made by the individual transferees with the assistance of our Personal Relocation Counselor. BHIF’s appointment as the user’s referral agent is contained in the Disclosure and Services Agreement.
